  7. This program is freeware.  It may be freely distributed, but may not be
  8. bought, sold, or distributed for profit by anyone other than JED Software.
  9. This READ ME file must be distributed with MF Calc at all times.

  11. WHAT IT DOES
  12.  
  13.     MF Calc is a tool for chemists.  It accepts a numerical value as input
  14.     and calculates the possible molecular formulas of the fragments that
  15.     have the same mass as the inputted value.  The user has many choices
  16.     in terms of defining what elements to include in the search, mass tolerance, 
  17.     etc.

  19. WHERE TO GET HELP

  21.     MF Calc has a built-in help file.  The program is fairly self-explanatory,
  22.     but read the help file if you have any problems.

  24. WHY IT IS FREE
  25.  
  26.     I was planning on trying to sell MF Calc, but the **major** chemical
  27.     software company that I sent it to for evaluation decided to distribute
  28.     their own and charge $149 for it.  Their version does exactly what mine
  29.     does for free, but they also have some other features that my program
  30.     does not have (what did you expect for free?).
  31.     
  32.     My suggestion is to try my program first, and see if it meet your needs.

  34. WHAT I WANT IN RETURN

  36.     All I want in return if you decide to keep and use MF Calc, is either
  37.     a postcard sent to the above address telling me if you like the program,
  38.     suggestions, ideas, etc., or an e-mail message with the same info.  My
  39.     e-mail address is deline@netcom.com.  If you use the program but do not
  40.     take the time to do either of those two things, then you are completely
  41.     hopeless.
